Rep. Virgil Fludd has announced the District 66 Scholarship winners for 2008. The award is given annually to selected students who have performed well both in the classroom and the community. This year’s winners are Tiara Burton, Julea Eppinger, Crissinda Ponder and Victor Shivers, Jr. Each of these outstanding students will receive a cash contribution toward their college education.

On this past Wednesday, Rep Fludd had the honor of addressing the state AARP in Atlanta. It was a great opportunity to discuss the 2008 legislative session and answer questions from the group.

Leadership Atlanta has announced its new, incoming class of 2009 and Rep. Virgil Fludd is among those chosen. These 76 community leaders were chosen from a group of more than 300 applicants as part of a highly competitive selection process. The Class of 2009 will be the 39th class of Leadership Atlanta, which is the longest continuously running community leadership program in the country.
